Diabetes is a disease that can be caused genetically or can be acquired through our diet. When one eats food, this food is converted into glucose by our body. Glucose acts as the generator of energy. This glucose is afterwards converted into glycogen storage components and when one needs this component can be converted back into glucose. This conversion of glucose and glycogen is monitored by a hormone called insulin. When insulin is produced in fewer amounts in the body, the glucose level can increase in the body. This can have adverse effects in the body. This excess glucose can come out through urine.

Eating more and more sugar results in more amount of glucose in the body and so more insulin should be secreted for controlling this glucose. Due to this, the work load on pancreas increases. It also affects the efficiency of pancreas decreases and thus, the production of insulin can be decreased or may be stopped resulting in diabetes. This is how sugar results in diabetes. But it is not only the sugar many other factors are also responsible for diabetes. Thus, it becomes necessary for us to take some precaution while eating sugar. In order to regulate the blood sugar level, you should have daily exercise. Even obesity should be controlled to some extent for this purpose.
